Questions about refills, transfers, prescription pickup, and managing your medications.
How do I refill my prescription?
You can request a refill by calling us at (212) 722-0000, using our secure Contact form, or stopping by the pharmacy in person. If you have refills remaining on file, we'll have it ready for pickup or delivery.
How do I transfer my prescription to Preferred Pharmacy?
Just provide us with your current pharmacy's information and the medications you'd like transferred. We'll contact your previous pharmacy and handle the entire transfer process for you — there's nothing else you need to do.
How long does it take to fill a prescription?
Most prescriptions are filled quickly, often within the same visit. Wait times can vary depending on insurance verification or medication availability, so we recommend calling ahead if you're on a tight schedule.
What if I have no refills remaining?
If your prescription has no refills left, we'll reach out to your doctor's office on your behalf to request authorization for a new refill, so you don't have to make that call yourself.
Can someone else pick up my prescription?
Yes, someone you authorize can pick up your prescription on your behalf. Depending on the medication, we may ask for some basic identifying information to confirm the pickup.
Can my doctor send prescriptions electronically?
Yes, most doctors can send prescriptions to us electronically (e-prescribe), which is fast and convenient. Your doctor's office can send it directly to Preferred Pharmacy.
Can I refill multiple prescriptions at once?
Yes, you can request refills for multiple medications at the same time, whether by phone, through our Contact form, or in person, and we'll have them ready together.
Do I need to see my doctor for refills?
Not always. If you have refills remaining on your prescription, you don't need to see your doctor. If your refills have run out, we'll help coordinate with your doctor's office to get authorization.
What should I do if I lost my medication?
Contact us as soon as possible so we can advise on next steps. Depending on your insurance and the medication, we can help coordinate an early refill or replacement.
Can I get text or call reminders for refills?
Yes, just let our team know you'd like to be enrolled in refill reminders, and we'll help set that up so you never miss a dose.
